Some multi-section courses in the UW Mathematics Department have a common textbook and syllabi: a set of topics that each instructor is to address in his or her section. MATH 1400,1405 and 1450 do have a common syllabus, each of which can be viewed below. The syllabus is a suggested schedule. A different group of instructors teach each semester. Each has a unique approach. They differ in the importance given to some topics over others, in the order in which topics are covered, and in the time spent on each chapter.
The Algebra Gateway Exam addresses the one skill that students in all 1405 and 1450 sections should master. If you have questions or suggestions, please see the course supervisor in a timely fashion.
| Important: The Math 1400/1405/1450 information needs to be viewed with Acrobat Reader. The UW student labs are equipped with Acrobat Reader and the exams can be easily printed in the labs. If you are printing from home and do not have Acrobat Reader 3.0 or above, you can download a free copy: Acrobat Reader. If you have questions about downloading, call David at 6-6577. |
