Tests
The Graduate Record Exam
(GRE) is required although the subject test
is optional. The preferred minimum combined verbal and quantitative score
is 1200. The GRE is not required for applicants who hold a Master's Degree.
Students from any country
where English is not the native language are required to present satisfactory
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
results. A minimum overall score of 250 and a section 1 score of 23 (600 and
58 respectively on the written exam) are required for admission to the Math
Graduate Program.
The Graduate School
will not waive these tests and there are no exceptions. Official results
of the TOEFL and the GRE must be mailed directly from the Educational Testing
Service to the University of Wyoming. The GRE is valid for five years. The TOEFL
is valid for two years.
