Graduate Program
Required Tests

The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required although the subject test is optional.  The preferred minimum combined verbal and quantitative score is 1200. The GRE is not required for applicants who hold a Master's Degree.

Students from any country where English is not the native language are required to present satisfactory Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results. A minimum overall score of 250 and a section 1 score of 23 (600 and 58 respectively on the written exam) are required for admission to the Math Graduate Program.

The Graduate School will not waive these tests and there are no exceptions. Official results of the TOEFL and the GRE must be mailed directly from the Educational Testing Service to the University of Wyoming. The GRE is valid for five years. The TOEFL is valid for two years.
