Hardware
-
Euler is a 22 node Beowulf Linux cluster made up of one master
node, 21 slave nodes, and connected by a 24 port 10/100/1000 ethernet
switch. The cluster was put together for us by
PSSC
Labs.
-
Each node, including the master, has two AMD Opteron 248 processors
and 4 GB of PC3200 SDRAM.
-
The master node is configured with two 120 GB 7200 RPM IDE hard
drives running in a RAID 1 (mirroring) configuration for the operating
system and shared user data storage space. The mirroring is being
done in hardware by a 3Ware 7006-2 PCI RAID controller.
-
Each slave node is configured with one 80GB 7200 RPM IDE hard drive
for the operating system.
