University of Wyoming Mathematics Scholarship Fund Information
 

These scholarships are awarded each spring semester in conjunction with Math Awareness Week. There is no application process. Recipients are chosen by a faculty scholarship committee. Awards are based on number of courses taken, GPA and financial need. Scholarships amount vary each year depending on scholarship funds but ususally range from $300-$600.



William Bridges Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a freshman or sophomore student enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences who has declared math as a major.


Theresa Britschgi Memorial Scholarhsip

Applicant must be majoring in mathematics.


Dr. Ray J. Hanna Scholarship

Applicant must be a current math major, have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a Wyoming resident.  Preference will be given to a student from a Wyoming community college.


Howard H. Heady Scholarship

Applicant must be of sophomore, junior or senior standing, majoring in mathematics in the College of Arts & Sciences and must be a resident of Wyoming.


Robert H. LaGrange Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be majoring in mathematics.


Greta Neubauer Mathematics Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time, female student majoring in mathematics.  Primary consideration shall be given to academic performance and secondary consideration to financial need.


Ottis H. Rechard Award

Award given to an outstanding student with a declared math major with preference given to a student who will be a senior in the next year.


Virindra and Gail Sehgal Mathematics Fund

Applicant must be majoring in mathematics.


Les Shader Student Awards Endowment
Applicant must be majoring in mathematics.


Catherine Gibbs Shaw Fund in Mathematics
Award to benefit students majoring in mathematics.


Peter E. Skinner Scholarship
Award intended for financially needy students. Preference given to incoming freshmen from Wyoming high schools and transfer students from Wyoming community colleges. A $3,000 scholarship that can be renewed annually until graduation if student remains in good academic standing.


Palmer O. Steen Scholarship

Applicant must be a Wyoming resident majoring in mathematics.


Verne Varineau Scholarship

Applicant must be of junior standing majoring in mathematics or math education with an outstanding academic record.


Steven Lane Ashley Memorial Scholarship

Graduate students only.  Recipients must be a United States citizen.  Consideration will be given to the applicant's academic work ethic along with his or her scholastic ability.
